This collaborative work, which began with research on the artificial islands (reclaimed land) of Tokyo Bay, attempts to create a space that allows us to glimpse into a past and future so distant that they are beyond our imagination, framing them as an expanded present starting from the here and now. The structure built within the exhibition room suggests a spiral-like extension of time toward both the past and the future. Through Aoyagi’s video and poetry, and Hosoi’s sound, their respective imaginations confront the motif of artificial land, manifesting as either a utopia or a dystopia.
