If I could hear the sound of that mountain, I wondered where exactly I was, and where the boundary of my body. What does the situation of “I cannot go there, yet I can see it and hear it” lead me toward? The work became a device themed around the making landscape through hearing, its effects, and the relationship between the body and networks.

From the rooftop of the museum, I installed microphones at nine sites within the city that are visually identifiable from the museum and connected to Nagano’s culture. On the rooftop, nine vibration speakers were attached to the glass in positions corresponding to the directions of the microphones, so that from the scenery before you, you can hear the sound of that mountain visible in the distance.
